The Main Street Mile Initiative is a plan for economic and community development in Upland, Indiana

The Main Street Mile Initiative is a multifaceted plan to develop transformational places and programs along the one-mile corridor that connects Taylor University to Downtown Upland. The project is financed in part by a $30 million College and Community Collaboration grant from the Lilly Endowment matched by $70 million in private investment, partnerships, and grants facilitated by Taylor University.  Grant efforts are led by 1846 Enterprises, a local community and economic development organization named for the year of Taylor’s founding.
